Is maintaining a Fish Tank easy?

Me n my husband ,we were crazy about having a fish tank,after little discussions we decided to get a 20inch tank ,which is quite a decent size ,after reaching the store we saw a 30inch tank on sale  for the price of a 20 inch , we got really excited and bought home the 30 inch tank, its really a huge tank,it does look beautiful in our living room but, later, after we really started using the tank i found that it is not that exciting;),because since the tank is big u have got to do a lot of cleaning, that is just fine for me because i don't work and i have plenty of time in my day.

that's my story ,i am gonna share few problems i had and what i learnt 

if u are a really busy person and need a fish n have no time to spend on it,the best fish for u is BETA,this fish lives in a really small blow ,with just water  n food,u can either get a simple blow or a decorative small blow n just drop it in there n feed it regularly,this fish is very attractive with big fins,check out beta fish here:-http://www.bettafishguru.com/

Those who  have time to clean n maintain a tank ,can get a bigger tank set, includes(tank,filter,)u should get a air pump which is really  important for fishes.next is choosing a fish,,the best fish of my experience are Tetras,they are not much affected if there is a water /temperature change ,thus they live long n make us happy,Gold fishes are also good, but i think they produce lot of waste,we started our tank by adding guppies ,these are really beautiful fishes ,but its very difficult to keep them alive ,by what i learnt there resistance power is really low,every time one of my guppies die we think (water/temp/waste) might be the reason ,we fix it and one more dies the next day, finally we gave up on guppies and started tetras ,they all are doing fine,i have a fish named Rummy Nose which is  very attractive n my favorite :)but very rarely found in pet store

and then we had problems with live plants in aquarium, u should be really careful if u are getting live plants ,they might have snails, if u get those plants in your tank snails will multiply into thousands n will be a mess,there are few solutions in pet store to get rid of them,but be safe getting a live plant.and i think the gravel layer that u add in your tank should be very small or cleaning will be a trouble, the water u add in your tank should be dechlorinated n 20% water should be changed every 2 weeks.we got few lily bulbs from Walmart n they are easy to grow and looks cool in our tank.
